BRIGADA ESKUWELA 2021
Brigada Eskuwela, an activity in public schools every year before the start of classes. Educators/teachers believe that environment plays a big part in pupil’s learning. And so, if classrooms are not conducive to learning because of poor condition and some defective facilities, education or learning is hindered.
Every year, the Department of Education conducted Brigada Eskuwela or the National Schools Maintenance Week on August 7 - 11, 2021 with the theme “ BAYANIHAN PARA SA PAARALAN.” It involves teachers, parents, students/pupils, PTA members, SK (Sangguniang Kabataan ng San Jose Patag), alumni and other stakeholders are actively participating and contributing their time, effort and resources to ensure the facilities are ready for the school opening.
August 18, 2021 was the Opening Ceremony of Brigada Eskwela. It starts with Nation Wide Kick - Off Ceremony and followed by School Virtual Program. Maam Maricel G. Santiago EdD begun the program and announce the start of Brigada Eskuwela 2021.
Due to Covid - 19, the program start with a short program via virtual presentation and it was aired School Facebook account, Aims were given, rules where discuss and help were ask, then the program ends with a smile. The master of ceremony Maam Gladice Jean Cabuhat ask the help of the member of the faculty especially to maam Gaye Abria to share a little dance participation featuring Zumba girls.
The 4P’s, PTA officer, parents and volunteers do the operation clean up drive on school grounds, make the necessary operation on classroom, tables and chairs. They do repairs to tables, blackboard and other material that needs to be constructed and it can be used again as new. Stairs, windows, grills and hallways are one of their priorities. Segregating trash are later done before they go home. Even they were doing cleaning areas, they still observe Safety Protocols given by the IATF.
Donations from different institution and individuals were handed and it was recorded for our transparency report. Face masks, face shields and alcohol were the most handed donations to our school. Soaps, disinfectant solutions were also donated and accepted. Brooms, dust pans and etc are also donated by some parents and pupils. Food for merienda were served from private institution.
Our humble Reserve Military Officers were here at SJPES to execute man power as well as DPWH employees and Sta. Maria Fire Department.
As this, Brigada Eskuwela proves that until today, our heroes term “Bayanihan” still remarks and continues to flare.
