School Curriculum

Not long ago, the concept of SHS was a blur. High School only lasted for four years and before that most schools had only six to seven years of grade school. Since the implementation of the K-12 system in the Philippine, the whole pre-university exclusive system had changed. What used to be only 10 years studying has now become twelve, with the two additional years now being referred to us “Senior High School” or SHS. 

Senor High School “complete” basic education by making sure that the high school product is equipped for work, entrepreneurship, or high education.  

This is the step up from the 10-year cycle where High school graduates still need further education to be ready for the world. SHS provides opportunities for students to concentrate on a certain field in Business, Science and engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, and General Academic. They will also be exposed in sports, Arts and Design and Technical Vocational – Livelihood courses depending on the track they wish to choose. 

School Year 2016-2017 Mark another milestone in the history of PGNHS as the school welcome 42 registrants composed of 24 males and 18 females of the first batch of Senior High School Students enrolled in Humanities and Social Sciences strand under academic track- the first curriculum offering of the school during the first-year implementation of the K-12 Curriculum. SY 2017-2018, Technical, Vocational and Livelihood (TVL) Track was added to the curriculum offering with Electronics Production Assembly Servicing (EPAS) as specialization with 33 students enrolled. 

PGNHS is with the Philippine government in believing that K to 12 Curriculum in the Philippines will make Filipino students at par with the rest of the world.  With the theme “Mag-aral ng K-12: Handa sa Hamon ng Buhay”, PGNHS releases 42 pioneer SHS Graduates on April 5, 2018. As a learning institution, PGNHS commits to provide quality, relevant and responsive education to all our learners.
