ARAL Program
In a bid to accelerate learning recovery in the region, the Department of Education (DepEd) CALABARZON successfully conducted the Regional Orientation and Capacity Building on the Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning (ARAL) Program on August 27–29, 2025.
The activities, organized by the Human Resource Development Division–National Educators Academy of the Philippines in the Region (HRDD-NEAPR) in collaboration with the Curriculum and Learning Management Division (CLMD) and the Quality Assurance Division (QAD), gathered key education leaders and trainers from various Schools Division Offices (SDOs).
Held at the Bulwagan ng Karangalan, Regional Office, Cainta, Rizal, the Regional Orientation on August 27 brought together the Chiefs of Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) and Division ARAL Focal Persons to align them with the program’s goals, strategies, and implementation guidelines. The orientation emphasized the crucial role of division leaders in guiding schools toward effective delivery of remedial and recovery programs.
The following days, August 28–29, saw the conduct of the Regional Capacity Building of Division Trainers at the Great Eastern Hotel, Quezon City. Division trainers underwent intensive workshops and sessions facilitated by expert resource persons to deepen their understanding of ARAL instructional strategies, monitoring tools, and learner support systems.
The ARAL Program, one of DepEd’s key initiatives, seeks to close learning gaps in literacy and numeracy, particularly among learners whose education was disrupted during the pandemic. Through these activities, DepEd CALABARZON ensures that learning interventions are not only well-structured but also sustainable at the grassroots level.
“This series of activities reinforces our commitment to ensuring that every child in CALABARZON has access to quality learning opportunities, regardless of the challenges they face,” said Atty. Alberto T. Escobarte, CESO II, Regional Director.
With the orientation and capacity building completed, the region is poised to cascade ARAL Program to schools, empowering teachers to deliver targeted interventions and helping learners regain lost competencies.
