DepEd teachers primarily receive Proportional Vacation Pay (PVP) rather than standard vacation and sick leave, totaling 70 days for summer and 14 days for Christmas vacation. Teachers can earn Vacation Service Credits (VSCs) for work outside regular duties, which can be used to offset absences. Other leave benefits include maternity, paternity, study, and indefinite sick leave, each with specific eligibility and application requirements. Non-teaching personnel and those with non-teaching functions are entitled to the standard government vacation and sick leave credits.
