This program is designed to prepare students who express keen interest in taking college degrees focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), senior high school students will be exposed to learning activities that will hone their knowledge and skills in analyzing data, understanding real-world impacts, and conducting research.
The Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) strands equip students with a wide range of discipline with the use of their experiences and skills into the investigation and inquiry of human situations by studying its behavior and social changes using empirical, analytical, and critical method techniques. HUMSS will give every learner a deeper understanding of culture, politics, literature, arts, and society - how these factors' complexity is appreciated during the pressing issues concerning them.
The Home Economics (HE) strand offers various specializations that can lead to livelihood projects at home. This strand aims to give you job-ready skills that can help you in finding the right employment. Subjects in the Home Economics can also lead to National certifications based on TESDA standards. This track also invests primarily on skills that can gain you requisite COCs (Certificates of Competency) and NCs (National Certifications) which would be essential when looking for better career opportunities in agriculture, electronics, and trade. This is also important when applying abroad where the skills you gain would prepare you as you join the workforce.
Information Communication and Technology or ICT Strand is one of the strands offered under Technical-Vocational Livelihood (TVL) Track of K-12 curriculum. ICT strand subjects seek to teach students concepts and skills in information technology. ICT in Senior High School equips students with the skills and knowledge they need to qualify for TESDA-backed certifications such as the Certificate of Competency (COC) and National Certifications (NC). These ICT strand courses ensure that TVL track graduates of the ICT strand in SHS can apply for IT jobs straight out of high school.
The Industrial Arts strand helps students develop their technical skills. These skills are useful for industry jobs, including carpentry, automotive services, electronics, plumbing, welding, and many more. In fact, this strand aims to produce field experts skilled in various technical facets. Finishing a course in Industrial Arts strand can gain you requisites for Certificates of Competency as well as National Certificates on each subject, provided that you pass the assessments from TESDA. Earning these certificates is essential especially when you’re looking for career opportunities in the electronics and trade industries.
