A Leader in the New Normal

Helen Grace A. Ramiro, PhD is the new great and dedicated leader of C. Marzan Elementary School. She has been the school principal since January 25, 2021.

With just a few months of stay as CMES principal, she has made a lot of school improvements with the help of her 8 strong teachers, barangay and PTA officials and other stakeholders. To mention one is the major repair of some classrooms. The school has procured and acquired such canteen wares and appliances thru her good solicitation process.

She is not afraid of her teachers to be better than her and she pushes and builds them up for promotion. she takes pride in the accomplishments of those she helped along the way because for her, "Behind the success of teachers is a good principal."

Community Pantry gives hope amid pandemic

“Nobody is an island”, a quote been used for so long within a charitable community. It is a quote fitted during this time of pandemic.

March 15, 2020 marked a day of unforgettable moment to everyone. A day filled with anguish --- the start of pandemic which stroke worldwide. It stopped the hands of the clock of economy to rotate. Everybody was affected; rich and poor alike. The spirit of helplessness prevailed. Everyone has to safeguard himself, confine inside the house to get rid of the virus.

With humanitarian reason, community pantry, rose with the idea that people in need could receive and be given help. People who are gifted give and donate as much as they can to help the less and under privilege.

Ana Patricia Non, a 26-year-old initiated the first community pantry at Maginhawa St., Quezon City last April 14 ,2021 affected by the pandemic outburst. The community pantry initiated a spark of benevolence. The initiation of the pantry boomed throughout the country to help augment the needs of the less privileged.

Community Pantry in the Philippines became famous. Thus, in our own place Sanchez Mira, community pantry also was done brought about by good spirited and kind hearted people. Goods, food stuff and essential goods were accumulated through donations. Pantries were delivered to remote areas and places needed assistance.

The C. Marzan Elementary School teaching staff, headed by the School Principal 2, Helen Grace A. Ramiro, PhD, also initiated the C. Marzan Magnanimous Enhanced Sharing (CMES), a school pantry extending it to every family of learners as a heart-warming activity in support of the parents and school children during this time of pandemic.

With the execution of the community pantry, charitable works were delivered, spirit of belongingness and bayanihan were observed, love and unity among mankind prevailed. Hence unity is indeed needed in times of Pandemic.

Mumunting Kamay sa Gitna ng Pandemya

Ang mga student leaders ng C. Marzan Elementary School ay namahagi kamakailan ng mga vegetable seeds sa bawat pamilya ng mag-aaral ngayong panahon ng pandemya.

“Kabi-kabilaan ang nagsasagawa ng 'community pantry' sa bansa ngayong panahon kaya ninais kong hikayatin ang aking kapwa leaders na tumulong din sa aming komunidad sa paraang makapagbibigay sa bawat pamilya ng pangmatagalang suplay ng pagkain,” tugon ni Angeline Precious L. Galolo nang siya ay tanungin kung bakit ito ang naisipan niyang proyekto sa kanyang pagiging SPG president.

Ang mga student leaders, sa pamumuno ni Angeline Precious, ay nagkaisang mag-ipon ng mga bote sa loob ng limang buwan upang ibenta. Ang napagbentahan ng mga bote ang siyang ipinambili ng mga buto ng apat na klase ng gulay na maaaring itanim sa bakuran ng bawat mag-aaral. Masusi nila itong pinaghahati-hati upang mabigyan ang lahat pati na ang bawat guro sa paaralan.

“Nakita ko ang kanilang pagpupursige at ganda ng kanilang layunin kaya dinagdagan ko ang kanilang ipinamigay na mga buto mula sa aking mga binhi,” ani ni Mang Arnel na isang vegetable grower sa kanilang lugar.

Sa layuning ito, buo ang suporta ng kanilang SPG adviser na si Gng. Mae G. Cartagena at ng kanilang punongguro na si Gng. Helen Grace A. Ramiro.

“Sa panahon ngayon, kailangan nating kumilos. Huwag tayong padadaig sa pandemya. Nakatutuwang isipin na sa musmos nilang kaisipan, nakuha nilang tumulong sa komunidad,” pagbabahagi ni Gng. Ramiro.

“Nakatulong po talaga ang pagtatanim namin ng mga ibinahaging buto. Imbes po na bumili, sa bakuran na lang po kami mangunguha. Pwede nang pang isang kainan minsan o kaya pansahog,” ayon naman kay Aling Maricel, isa sa mga magulang.

Ang proyektong pinangalanan nila ng “Gulayan sa Paaralan sa Bakuran Dalhin, Munting Butil sa Bote Nanggaling” ay nais ipagpatuloy at palawigin pa ng organisasyon at sila ay bukas sa sinumang may magandang puso na nais mamahagi ng mga vegetables seeds ngayong taong panuruan.
