The PTA, or the Parent Teacher Association is a network of of families, students, teachers, administrators, and business and community leaders devoted to the educational success of children and the promotion of family engagement in schools. It is a formal organization of parents and teachers that is formed to get parents involved in their children’s academics as well as to help and reform the school systems. The main focus of any PTA is to work for the prosperity of the school going children. PTA provides parents and teachers a mutual platform to work for the betterment of the school, teaching and everything that influences the physical and intellectual growth of a child.
Every year, at Nicolas Agatep Elementary School, A Parent-A-Day (APAD) is held. The program's goal is to raise environmental awareness and offer a safe and suitable learning environment for the school's students. One parent of a Nicolas Agatep ES student from kindergarten to grade six should be able to come to school to assist with the beautification, cleaning, and organization of the school premises.
This program also aids in the improvement and development of the school by strengthening the Parent-Teacher relationship. In retrospect, the initiative was a success.
The school organized a functional School Governing Council (SGC) and Parent Teachers Association(PTA). Thus, the school was supported by the active and benevolent PTA and stakeholders. They voluntarily donated cash for the reproduction of modules and other school supplies. They also shared financial assistance and materials to school for continuous improvement projects. The school strengthened cooperation with Barangay Officials, PTA and community folks as the community leaders extend their help and concern in the school.
