DAGUPAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

I. INTRODUCTION:

Teachers are conformed with financial problems when it comes to the improvement of the school plan facilities and other classroom set-up. School PTA has been organized every year to help source funds for the school projects. However, there are also times that the efforts of the PTA have already been utilized and exhausted but still some are still missing. It is in this premise that the school managers tried to put up their school canteen which could be a good source of income for the school projects, improvements and the like. It is also good training ground for the EPP pupils to practice and develop in them the importance of basic work habits. The school canteen is managed and owned by the teachers as cooperative.

II. OBJECTIVES:

The establishment of the school canteen aims to:

1. Apply knowledge and skills in simple business.

2. Develop wholesome work habits, attitudes and values towards work

efficiency.

3. Sell nutritious foods and prohibit the selling of junk foods.

4. Increase awareness and interest in gainful occupation.

5. Create various projects out of the proceeds.

III. OPERATION

The canteen operates on a self-help basis. The amount used to operate the school canteen came from the teachers as cooperative. It was utilized to start the canteen operation for the school year 2017-2018. The canteen manages by the canteen manager.

The share for the administration was used for the improvement of the office supplies and equipment.

The share for the supplemental feeding was utilized for the undernourished pupils from grades I-VI.

IV. RESULT/ IMPACT

The school canteen was a very good source of fund. The operation was successful and profitable. The proceeds were minimal but were able to augment some of the financial constrains of the teachers in the school.

V. CONCLUSION

The school canteen has helped the teachers, pupils and the parents a lot especially in the financial aspect. It is also develops values and work trait in children. Furthermore, it improved and helped monitored the nutritional status of the beneficiaries.
