Brief History of the School

Dagupan Elementary School is located at Barangay Dagupan, Lal-lo, Cagayan, the seat of the Cagayan North International Airport. It is found at the Southeastern part of the municipality which is adjacent to the municipality of Buguey. It is was established in 1982 when people coming from other barangays of the municipality; from other municipalities of the province and from other provinces like Isabel a and pangasinan settled in the place to live. The school has a total land area of 10,000 square meters with a Deed of Donation in the custody of the school as a proof of ownership.With regards to its location in relevance to some key reference points, DES is 24.5 kms. away from the poblacion and 5.7 kms. away from San Mariano Elementary School, the nearest public Elementary School respectively. Other reference schools within the municipality like Magapit National High School, the nearest secondary school is 13.9 kms. away. Dagupan Elem. School can be reached through tricycles van, jeepney and motorcycles with a stretch of 12.8 kilometers from National Highway at Barangay Magapit. The road going to the school is a super highway linking Magapit, Lal-lo and Mission, Sta. Teresita all the way to Sta. Ana, the last town of Cagayan in the East lying along the coast of the great Pacific Ocean. Previous to present records show that the school enrolment ranges from 200-250 with some pupils come from two (2) feeder barangays.
