Malasin ES, Active Learners' Nest
In all aspects of life, I personally believe in the “Boomerang Principle”. It means that whatever you do, it will always return to you. I may also ideologically relate it to Newton’s scientific law of motion saying “in every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.” The point to be made here is that the more effort that is spent to keep learners continue acquiring education, the more chances for our learners to reciprocate, to get involved, and to progress even in this time of pandemic. Continuous student involvement and engagement adds fuel to teacher motivation, and in order to complete the principle, there has to be mutual trust, mutual admiration, and mutual motivation among teachers and learners.
The birth of Project WEBS in the Division of Cagayan is another manifestation that our department is indeed very persistent in finding ways on how we could deliver services to our clienteles- thus, Malasin Elementary School joins the Division in the different projects and programs for the development of the educational system in general.
With the fast pace of technology advancement nowadays, it is fitting and proper that we have to keep ourselves abreast with the instantaneous developments in order for us not to be left behind.
I commend the WEBS Team of Malasin Elementary School, for persistently developing, working and keep on improving our school website. Your dedication and motivation to work on it, even to the extent of you having spent sleepless nights and stressful days is a manifestation of your love and devotion to your duty. Please know that I appreciate so much your immeasurable work of sacrifice. Let us continue to work together for the battle has just begun and that victory is waiting for us.
Through the school website, we will be able to reach out to every learners we have wherever they are. It will also give an opportunity for every alumna/alumnae to be brought closer to their alma mater and have a chance to get involved to every activity and undertakings of the school which nurtured them during their formation age.
It will as well serve as a show window of all the achievements and victories of every learner who are striving continuously and giving pride to school locally, in the national level and even to the international level. Not only that, issues and concerns in the school shall also be posted in this page for everyone to be a part or involve with if necessary.
It may not seem easy at first, but little by little, with the cooperation of everyone, our teachers, community and stakeholders, we will attain what we hope for. The only thing that we do, is to give our part and do our best and the Boomerang Principle will apply.
Together, let us not allow that the education of our children be succumbed to COVID-19 pandemic. Learning must continue. Teaching must continue. Education must continue for even the pandemic cannot stop us from reaching our dreams and our children’s dreams.
Lastly, to be able to surpass the turmoil we are in at present, all we need is hope and strength. Hope that it will eventually get better and strength to hold on till it does”. And while we are waiting; whatever hardship, challenges, indecisions and fears that we are facing, we just remember that these too shall pass and by the grace of God we will overcome. To our learners we hope that you continue to trust us that what we do today and how you respond to it will define what kind of individuals you will all be in the future. We promise that excellence will still be part of everything that we do for them and our community. Just remember that tomorrow is still full of wonderful possibilities for all of us.

Greening Program taps TUPAD workers
JUNE 9, 2021
Centro 7, Claveria, Cagayan, June 9, 2021 – The Malasin Elementary School (MES) has tapped the services of parents hired under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) to realize its “Clean and Green Program” project in Malasin..
“Parents of our pupils who were hired by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Cagayan provincial office under their TUPAD program are now helping us clean within the school premises.
“We have TUPAD work in the 41 barangays of Claveria that have lower coronavirus diseases 2019 (Covid-19) cases,” Jeffrey Salmon added as the head of TUPAD here in our town Claveria and being subdivided into the different barangays.
Parents employed under the TUPAD program are those who had been displaced because of Covid-19 and are not beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
The "Clean and Green" project aims to uplift the spirit of learners, parents, and teachers as well as to show gratitude and appreciation to teachers for all the hard work and dedication they have shown amid the pandemic to continue the delivery of quality education to learners, according to the DepEd Memorandum Order 521-0171 issued on May 24, 2021.
DOLE Cagayan provincial office director said in a separate interview that since June 1, some 3,808 TUPAD workers, including 473 who were assigned with DepEd, were hired for the school-greening project.
Salmon said that aside from TUPAD workers who are assigned in the schools, there were 200 Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel who will carry out repairs in municipal stations, while 130 Citizen Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) members and personnel of local government units (LGUs)will carry out clean-up activities.
The TUPAD workers received PHP395 minimum daily wage from DOLE.

Learning in the New Normal is not that Easy
NOVEMBER 15, 2020
As the country continues to confront different issues brought about by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, the Department of Education (DepEd) is addressing the challenges in the basic education for the school year 2020-2021 through its Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP) under DepEd Order No. 012, s. 2020.
The BE-LCP is consistent with the mandate of Section 1, Article XIV of the 1987 Constitution for the state to protect and promote the right of all citizens to quality education at all levels, and to take appropriate steps to make such education accessible to all. Under Section 6, Chapter 1 of Republic Act No. 9155, or the Governance of Basic Education Act of 2001, DepEd is vested with the authority, accountability, and responsibility for ensuring access to, promoting equity in, and improving the quality of basic education.
Hence, the BE-LCP aims to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of the learners, teachers, and personnel in the time of COVID-19, while finding ways for education to continue amidst the crisis. In particular, the BE-LCP has been designed with a legal framework responsive to the “new normal,” keeping in mind the constitutional mandate to uphold the right of all citizens to quality education at all times.
In line with this, the learning delivery modalities that schools can adopt may be one or a combination of the following, depending on the local health conditions, the availability of resources, and the particular context of the learners in the school or locality
Therefore Malasin Elementary School (MES) uses blended learning. This refers to a learning delivery that combines face-to-face with any, or a mix of, Modular Distance Learning, Online Distance Learning, and Television/Radio-Based Instruction. Blended learning will enable the schools to limit face-to-face learning, ensure social distancing, and decrease the volume of people outside the home at any given time.
Benevolent stakeholders from all over the globe particularly Centro 7 and Centro 8 donated two (2) xerox machines just to meet the reproduction of modules for the whole quarter of this school year 2020-2021.
We are overhelmed in all humbleness and gratefulness to acknowledge our depth to all those who have helped us in the realization of this endeavor.
Learning in the new normal is a challenge for the teachers, pupils and even parents.
