CABARITAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL was first established in the year 1938 as a primary school and catered to the locals until the World War II.
After the war, the school was reestablished in the year 1956 when the community people thru the leadership of then Alcalde Mayor Felimon Costales and the then Parents Teacher Association President Santiago Castillo and other community leaders in the person of Fermin Tacason and Andoc Aguillana took the initiative of building a a two-storey house made of nipa making the first floor of the house as a classroom where combination classes of grades one and two are housed and later with grades three and four. the school lot was donated by a prominent Ilokano folk in the name of Doña Maria.
The first graduates of the school as complete elementary school was in the year 1968, and thereafter, a lot of community children graduated in this institution.
