Zumbahan sa Eskwelahan is a collaborative innovation for the Brigada Eskwela by some of the teachers of Libas Elementary School as a way of reaching out to individuals who shares a common goal which is to help the school for the school year 2022-2023.
“Filipino, Culture and Traditions” (n.d), describes Bayanihan as the “core essence of the Filipino culture. It is also called the ‘community spirit’”. The spirit of bayanihan burns with the conduct and implementation of Brigada Eskwela annually.
The aim of this innovation is to mobilize and bring together parents, alumni, teachers, students, and individuals who not only volunteer their time and skills to do classroom repairs, maintenance work, and clean-up the school but also have the heart to give something for the learners who are in need.
Project HOPE is an innovation in ESP that complies in Pagpapatibay ng relasyon sa Diyos which is very timely especially this time of Pandemic and Brigada Eskwela. This innovation serves as a way of helping the people involved to be enlightened and refreshed with Gods’ word. This will be a wakeup call to everyone that God still exist and ready to hear their prayers most likely in tough times like this.
Moreover, it will make the participants to start the year right, for this school year 2022-2023. To reflect and connect to our God almighty.
Furthermore, this innovation focuses on bringing together parents, alumni, teachers, students, and individuals to help instill not only the spirit of Christianity but also the spirit of Bayanihan, one of the most important Filipino values. It also seeks to bring us together who would love to volunteer their time and skills to do repairs, maintenance work for classrooms, and clean up the school.
Project MAM (Magbasa at Matuto) is a joint innovation of the two reading coordinators of Libas Elementary School in response to Brigada Pagbasa which aims to help learners improve their reading ability, develop their reading habits towards becoming independent readers and nurture a culture of reading at home.
The In-Service Training aimed to strengthen Kindergarten to Grade 6 teachers’ capacity to teach and assess early reading skills of the pupils. The training also aimed to capacitate and/or enhance the teachers with skills needed in this New Normal especially in using technology.
All the teachers of Libas Elementary School (26 teachers) were catered to equip all of them with techniques on how to develop reading readiness of the learners as well as to create quality learning materials.
An e-Library is a collection of documents—such as magazine, articles, book, papers, images, sound files and videos—organized in an electronic form and available on the internet or on a digital support. It can give access to multiple contents with a potentially infinite number of resources and selections at hand.
Project e-LAYB serves as a digital platform that caters different learning materials that are useful in enhancing the reading skills of Libas Elementary School’s learners.
“e -ROSALIA” Enhancing Recognition of Sounds and Letters in the Alphabet is a proposed project for the incoming Grade 1 learners of Libas Elementary School to use online platforms aside from the printed materials they use. Social media is now a platform for learners to enrich and awaken their passion in reading.
In this time of the 21st century, learners show boredom when reading mere printed materials. This may be because of the multiple media available to them (this generation being exposed to online platforms and other forms of multimedia), which makes reading an undesirable option to spend their time with. But when we use gadgets instead of a book and with the use of social media, learners feel excitement every time they have online class or follow-up session.
Through this project “e-ROSALIA”, incoming Grade 1 learners in our school will be able to cope and adapt with new trends in education. This electronic reading method can be of great help to learners, parents, and teachers
The incoming Grade 1 Learners showed eagerness to learn. They were able to read and recognized the letter name and sound of the letters of the alphabet. Reading readiness was developed. Their transition from non-reader into a reader was achieved. They have passed the assessment given; so as agreed upon, the tablet was given to them as their reward. It was already instilled with reading materials in English, Filipino and Mother Tongue.
