A Meta Quest Developer Account is ONLY needed to screencast on the computers. This is a step-by-step to set up an account.
Access this link https://developer.oculus.com/sign-up/ to create an account. After scrolling down, a blue sign-up box will appear. Select the 'Sign up' Button
This will redirect to the Meta Account Creation. Choose the desired login method. There are three methods:
Select "Continue with Facebook"
You will be prompted log in with your Facebook account
After logging in, you will need to confirm access to your account
Select "Continue with Instagram"
You will be prompted to log in with your Instagram account
After logging in, you will need to confirm access to your account
Click the email option to redirect to the email registration
Enter your email and select "Next"
You will be redirected to an email confirmation. Select the "Create a New Account'" button
A new page will ask for your first and last name. Fill out the information
Another new page will ask for your birthday. Fill out the information
You will then be asked to create a new password. After creating your password, select "Continue"
You are now on the final confirmation page. There will be a checkbox asking if you are interested in receiving emails. If you prefer not to, deselect the checkbox. The select "Create Account"
You will need to confirm your email. Check your email for a 6-digit code which you will need to finish the account creation process
Once you create an account, you will be directed to a page where you can set up your Meta Horizon Profile. Select "Next"
You will be presented with Privacy Setting options, and can select the preferred option. Once selected, click "Review." Click "Accept and Continue"
You will then need to set up 2-Factor Authentication
You will be directed to the Meta Accounts Center Passwords and Security page. Click the Two-factor Authentication option. A pop up window will trigger, and you will select the correct Meta Account. Once selected, choose your preferred authentication method.
If you select Authentication App, it will direct you to install Google Authenticator or Duo Mobile. Scan the barcode in the window with your authenticator app or enter the key in the authenticator app. Copy the 6-digit code and return to Meta to input the code.
If you select Text Message, enter your phone number and Meta will send you a code via Text Message. Enter the provided code to confirm the authentication process.
Go back to the Meta Quest for Developers to see if the account is enabled.
Reminder: A MQDH account is only necessary if you would like to cast the headset display to one of the monitors in ROW203.
