Tenzer Technology Center - Fall 2024
Overview
The Tenzer NFC Card Challenge for Fall 2024 is created for all current DePauw students, regardless of major or class year. Participants can follow the provided guidelines on this site to customize a personal NFC card to share their professional profile with peers, faculty, and potential employers.
CONTEST RUNS FROM NOVEMBER 19TH - DECEMBER 4TH
Mission
Introduce the technology of NFC (Near-Field Communication), a contactless communication technology which has gained worldwide popularity over the past few years, to the DePauw community.
For an overview of NFC Cards, click here.
Encourage DePauw students to establish a professional online presence (e.g., LinkedIn), which helps build a strong network of professional contacts and exposes them to numerous internship and job opportunities.
Practice designing simple graphics using online platforms, and sharpen creative minds!
How to Participate
Drop by the Tenzer Technology Center Maker Lab (ROW 202) to get an NFC card during the following hours:
4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. on November 19th (Tuesday)
During the 3D Printing Techover
10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on November 20th (Wednesday)
3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on November 21st (Thursday)
The Tenzer Center has 25 NFC cards to provide at no cost to the first 25 students who wish to participate.
Follow the Instructions for technical steps and to customize your card.
Drop by UB Living Room to pick up your printed stickers, verify your card, and enter for a prize draw during the following hours:
4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. on December 4th (Wednesday)
The prize draw will be performed at 6:15 p.m. so please arrange to show up and submit your card in time for that. And while you're there, hang around for the Tenzer Fall De-stressor Event featuring food and fun from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. (same day and same location).
Important Information
Requirements
Each card must have a working URL to a professional online presence written to it. We will verify cards by holding them behind a phone and checking if they work. The step where students design and print stickers to put on the cards is optional but highly recommended.
Timeline
The challenge ends on December 4th.
Card Pickup Days:
4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. on November 19th (Tuesday)
During the 3D Printing Techover

*Prize draw at 6:15 p.m.
Prizes
All participants whose cards satisfy the specified requirements and who successfully get their cards verified by us during the allotted verification time (see above) will be entered into our drawing. On December 4th at 6:15 p.m. in the UB Living Room, we will draw three winners.Â
