Manage

ASCA National Model Manage area provides suggestions on ways to develop a counseling program that will produce positive results by contributing to a school counselor’s ability to guide and align their school counseling program with identified priorities.

Use of Time

The ASCA model which has been adopted as Oklahoma's Counseling Framework recommends that school counselors spend 80% of their time on direct or indirect services to students. A use of time calculator is filled out daily by the counseling department to document and analyze how much time is being spent on counseling activities compared to non-counseling activities. The pie chart below updates in real time to reflect our counseling department use of time.

Advisory Council

An Advisory Council for the Denison Elementary School Counseling program is beneficial because it provides a chance for stakeholders to express their options and input for the program. The council functions as a communication link between the school counseling program and the diverse groups within the school and community. This allows for meaningful feedback and informed decisions regarding counseling program.
