The vision of Denison Elementary Counseling Department is that the students are resilient learners who passionately believe in their own abilities to succeed in school and in life as community members and citizens. The needs of all students will be met with developmentally appropriate instruction and an individualized approach. Student needs will be addressed through a curriculum that fosters personal growth, self-awareness, responsibility, mindfulness, and an appreciation of diversity and individuality to enable success in an ever-changing world. Students will have an enhanced learning experience by being introduced to diverse national., global, and multicultural perspectives. Our comprehensive school counseling program will support the achievement of every student and build on the collaborative relationship of families, staff, and community members to support a foundation of student success. Denison Elementary is expecting success and prepared to make a positive difference in our world.

The mission of Denison Elementary Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate program that is designed to meet the academic, social-emotional, and career needs of all our students. We work to provide services that align with the ASCA National Model and the Oklahoma Framework for counseling and evaluate our program accordingly. The counselor at Denison provides a comprehensive program using a varied and innovative curriculum to help foster growth in all of our students. Partnerships with students, parents, educators, administration, and community members are cultivated for the support of student success. We are committed to preparing students to become caring, productive, and responsible citizens.
