“Staring is different than looking is different than searching is different than drifting. Shadows connect to something else. If that something else is hidden, the shadow is the source of speculation on the origin. Objects reveal the ground of activity that is behind them. To have less form is to have more room for what inevitably builds form. If the grass in my yard all disappeared, except for two blades, I would see them and the space between them clearer. An object of consequence tries to contain the thing that contains it. An object with dumbness proposes the question of why when looking at it, which opens up the space between recognition and looking. An object of awe proposes the question of how, which opens up the space between recognition and looking again, but differently. “
