"Sooo during this crisis I have obviously been at home, I had thought it would be interesting to make a font which references similar shapes that I have use in paintings and wall sculptures. Ive used the font for my submission.
When I read the assignment I immediately started to think about how artists build a mystique around their practice that is presented to the public when in reality is far less interesting, banal or contradictory. Having worked for blue chip artists I have witnessed to how far the delusion can be taken.
For me personally I have used sand in my work which references building materials of the borderland such as stucco and it’s connection to the surround environment. When talking with people, the texture of my work is always a source of intrigue. If only they knew I get my sand from Home Depot...."
