New International Students

Welcome to Denison University! Denison prides itself on offering a culturally diverse environment for its students. Our strong academic reputation attracts talented students from 50 states and nearly as many countries, so our students interact with people of many different faiths and cultural backgrounds. International students (anyone who is not a citizen or permanent resident of the United States: 16% of our first-year class) are also given the opportunity to work closely with faculty and staff, forming long-lasting and meaningful relationships. Faculty and staff (including our President) recognize the needs of international students and are supportive of their academic and social endeavors.

We provide one-on-one advising on the academic, social, and personal challenges associated with living and learning in an unfamiliar culture, and continuing education on the immigration regulations, requirements, and expectations pertinent to the non-immigrant student visa.

January 18, 2026 - Transfer student orientation
January 19, 2026 - Martin Luther King Jr. Day activities (classes not in session)
January 20, 2026 - Spring 2026 semester classes begin

Fall 2026

August 18, 2026 - Arrival for first-year international students participating in the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program
August 19, 2026 - Arrival for all other first-year international students
August 20, 2026 - Transition day for first-year international students (banking and shopping)
August 21, 2026 - Mandatory international student orientation session
August 22-26, 2026 - Orientation with the First Year Experience Office
August 26, 2026 - Induction of the Class of 2030
August 27, 2026 - Fall 2026 semester classes begin
