Field trip to Britannia Shipyards

February 14th, 2025

We enjoyed a chilly but informative couple of hours at the Britannia Shipyards in Steveston. We toured homes and bunkhouses, and the docents shared artifacts and documents with us that allowed the class to think about life on the Fraser in the early 1900s. The experiences of people from a variety of backgrounds was vastly different, and the class was able to imagine what a move to BC may have been like from many different perspectives.
