COURSE DESCRIPTION
English 3A includes an intensive program in writing composition, vocabulary development, research skills, and a multicultural perspective of American Literature. This class will focus on career education, critical thinking, and reinforcement of ELA skills. Specific units of instruction include a review of grammar, an expansion of reading skills, vocabulary, composition writing, and American literature. Students will read Julius Caesar, The Awakening, The Great Gatsby, and a variety of other American literature selections. They will also complete both a position research paper and a service learning project.
