Hello and welcome to STEAM+ Music at Ocean Air where we sing, say, dance, and play in a tuneful, beatful, artful way! I am so excited to be here and join you on your path to musical creativity and literacy!
My name is Nicole Poznicek and this is 16th year teaching music. Prior to joining Del Mar, I taught Music & Musical Theater at Coastal Academy for three years and K-8 General Music within Chicago Public School for 9 years. I hold my Masters in Music Education from Anderson University and certifications in Orff Schulwerk and John Feierabend First Steps in Music & Conversational Solfege.

What to Expect in STEAM+ Music
In STEAM+ Music, students will develop a solid foundation of musical skills and literacy. Lessons will incorporate a wide range of activities connecting to students’ interests, passions, and community, as well as cultures around the world. Students can look forward to singing, moving, listening, improvising, composing, and playing a variety of instruments. Through music instruction, students will gain confidence, empathy, critical thinking skills, and a deep appreciation for the musical world around them.

When not teaching, I enjoy reading, singing, trying new restaurants with my husband, and spending time with my two children, Jay and Hunter, and our dog Lenny. We love enjoying the sunny weather of San Diego by spending our days at the beach or out hiking. During the summer, my family and I enjoy heading back to Chicago, IL to visit extended family, as well as traveling and exploring new destinations.
