Fifth and Sixth
Grade Music

Students learn musical concepts through singing, listening, improvising, composing, and moving to music.  Stories, manipulatives, singing games, cultural folk dances, and a variety of instruments (including pitched & unpitched percussion) are incorporated into music class to further develop students: 

• Accurate rhythmic reading skills,

• Accurate singing skills, 

• Improvisation and composition skills; and  

• Sensitivity to the expressive qualities in music.
