Judy Lee

Judy is a fourth-year student in the Faculty of Science, majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Data Science at the University of British Columbia. In her field, she enjoys exploring the intersection of technology and problem-solving, particularly in the areas of user experience design, software development, and data science. In her free time, you can find her exploring Vancouver's vibrant food scene, and getting lost in a great thriller book or TV show. Something interesting about Judy is that she was once a Girl Scout, which sparked her passion for teamwork and problem-solving. She uses these skills to embrace new challenges, participating in over a dozen hackathons where her team has received multiple awards for their innovative projects. Committed to empowering women in tech, Judy has also tutored young girls in STEM subjects to help them succeed in this field. She is eager to join the Soar with MENTOR program, where she aims to connect with experienced mentors to further enhance her skills and contribute positively to the tech community.

Her work ranges from sports analytics to women’s financial inclusion and ethical social media misinformation monitoring. In her free time, you can find her traveling in nature, dancing at various workshops, or top-rope climbing. Something unique about Katherine is that she was ranked the top diner in Montreal, and you’re likely to spot her at an Asian fusion restaurant over the weekend.
