FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Here are some FAQs to explore as you participate in the program.
Q - When I click on the Google form it asks me to login to a Google account? Do I have to do this to complete the form?
A - There are a few ways to approach Google forms as schools and corporate accounts are set up in a variety of ways. Try the following:
Cut the form url and paste it into a Chrome browser
If that does not work, try using incognito (private browser)
Use a personal email address
Reach out to the SOAR team if you are still unable to complete the forms.
Q - On the consent form it asks for a company name (what company) - what should I enter?
A - Leave it blank or enter NA. If you want to fill something in, feel free to enter your university/college.
Q - When I first applied to be part of this program, I was able to attend all of the required dates. My schedule has since shifted and I can only make some of them. What is your policy on attendance? Do I have to attend all of the sessions to complete the program and be considered successful?
A - The expectation is to attend all posted dates. Participants who fulfill all requirements of the program will receive a digital badge that can be shared on a digital platform.
Q - What is the goal of the mentor conversations during the sessions?
A - The goal of the mentor conversations is to start and establish trust with the mentor/mentee and define the mentoring goals. It is the second stage of the mentor framework.
Q - I would like to continue to connect with my mentor/mentee, what are my options?
A - It is wonderful that you are interested in a continued relationship with your mentor/mentee! There are a variety of options to consider:
Reach out on social media
Set up another meeting at a mutually convenient time
After each of the Soar with MENTOR sessions, the Zoom breakout rooms will be kept open for 30 additional minutes for further conversations.
At the end of the program, if there is a mentor/mentee you wish to continue, we can assist with the "set up".
Q - Might I find an internship or a job at Dell from attending these sessions?
A - Internships and jobs are offered throughout the year at Dell.
Dell Technologies has a variety of pathway programs. We hire for sales and non-sales intern/coop positions.
If you are interested in Engineering and/or Computer Science internships and/or periodic fulltime roles there are two different programs to explore:
Internships/Coops for Engineering and Computer Science Undergraduates

If you are interested in a Summer Internship program with a focus on Sales and Marketing:
-Applications are available in early Fall, with interviews between Oct. and Jan.
-Dell is looking for candidates in years 3 or 4 of their program who are:
Comfortable with being uncomfortable
Possess a growth mindset attitude
Strong EQ etc...
