Hello grade four students and parents/guardians,

My name is Mrs. Lem and I'm so excited to be working with you this year. To help you get to know me a little better, here is some information about me.

Childhood: I was born and raised in Ontario, Canada. I have 2 sisters and 2 brothers, my parents and siblings are all in Canada. I am the second oldest child in the family and my older sister and I took care of our younger sister and 2 brothers. I learned to play the piano and had swimming classes. I enjoyed going to the public libraries and playgrounds with my friends.

School: When I was in Middle School I wanted to become a doctor. But after I got into University of Toronto, I decided I wanted to be a teacher. After I got my teaching degree, I came to Hong Kong and got my first teaching job in Discovery Bay. While teaching in Hong Kong, I started to study for my Masters of Education at the Hong Kong University. I have been taking a lot of additional qualification courses and like all students, there will always be something new for me to learn.

Family: A lot of you may already met or know my family, you don't have to look very far to find them. Mr. Lem (one of the P.E. Teachers at Delia) is my husband. I have 3 wonderful children who are also DSC students; Logan is in Gr. 10, Katrina is in Gr. 8 and Jared is in Gr. 6. As a family, we often go hiking, biking, wall climbing. We play a lot of board and card games, we each have our own favourite one, so we need to take turns deciding which one we will play. We also like to sit down, eat popcorn and watch movies.

Hobbies: I like to read, my favourite type of books are non-fiction. I also like to knit and do crafty projects. This summer, I learned to cross stitch with my daughter. I also like to eat and try different kinds of food; I often try new recipes and cook at home. This summer, we also bought a sandwich maker and we learned to make donuts!
