As part of the curve sketching unit, I asked students to look at data sets for GDP growth. Students graphed the curves and made rough sketches of what the curve should look like. They used this data to estimate where key features of the GDP would be (max, min, inflection points). Students then researched key events in history that would have caused the GDP to shift. The events could have been from the country or the world. See the lesson plan below:
