Melanie Drayton serves as one of the School Counselors at Stone Mountain High School. Her caseload includes 9th-12th grade students whose last names begin with H-M.
Mrs. Drayton was born into a military family in Okinawa, Japan and raised in various places throughout the United States. Mrs. Drayton is an alumnae of Valdosta State University where she received her Master’s degree in School Counseling. She also has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and an Associate's degree in Business Computer Systems. She has 15 years of experience in the field of Mental Health/Social Services including Professional School Counselor, Mental Health Assessor/Therapist, Academic Advisor, and a DFCS Case Manager.
Mrs. Drayton hopes to motivate students to find their inner strengths and abilities and discover what truly inspires them. She also aims to assist students with academic, personal, and social issues, while fostering confidence in order for students to realize their full potential.
Outside of being a School Counselor, Mrs. Drayton is an entrepreneur and Owner of Yummy Skin Escentials a handmade body butter business. In her spare time she enjoys many things such as traveling, shopping, trying new restaurants, and most of all spending time with her husband and three sons. Mrs. Drayton is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
