Our department’s mission is to offer an active comprehensive school counseling program to meet the academic, college/career, and personal/social needs of all students. We align with the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model, Georgia School Counseling Association (GSCA), and DeKalb County School District (DCSD). Counselors at “The Rock” are accessible to support students and their families throughout their high school careers. We collaborate with students and all relevant stakeholders to produce global citizens for college, career, and military service.
The Stone Mountain High School Guidance, Counseling, and Mentoring Department envisions a fluid and intentional comprehensive guidance, mentoring, and counseling model tailored to our students. Our nurturing environment encourages increased academic, personal/social, and career growth and exploration. Counselors at “The Rock” affirm that we partner with school, home, and community to prepare responsible and productive global Pirates!
