Dr. Shawanna F. Cox serves as Head Counselor at Stone Mountain High School. Her caseload includes 9th-12th grade students whose last names begin with A-E.
Dr. Cox was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. She is a graduate of the prestigious McDonogh #35 College Preparatory Senior High School (N.O.), Xavier University (N.O.) and Argosy University (Atlanta). Dr. Cox is also a licensed professional counselor (LPC), national certified counselor (NCC), and certified professional counseling supervisor (CPCS). Her professional affiliations include: the American Counseling Association, Georgia School Counselor Association, Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia, Professional Association of Georgia Educators, and Organization of DeKalb Educators. Dr. Cox is a 28-year veteran counselor educator supervisor. Her professional experience includes work as a middle and high school teacher, college instructor, counseling supervisor, licensed therapist, and counseling supervisor.
