Perfect Puzzlers is an afterschool group led by our Occupational Therapist Dr. Speaks-Douthit that will encourage academic success by strengthening the skills that reading, writing and math are built on! 

Much like our first session, students will engage in activities and games including puzzles, mazes, building activities, drawing and copying designs, sorting and memory games. This time we will incorporate more movement into our sessions to engage our sensory systems. The focus will be on enhancing students’ ability to make sense of and use the information they take in through their eyes. Perfect puzzlers will target all aspects of visual perception including visual memory, visual spatial relationships, figure ground, visual closure and form constancy in a relaxed and social after school group! 

Occupational Therapist designed group sessions. These sessions will include sensory activities, games and peer interactions. The children will work towards increased attention span, gross and fine motor skills, and body awareness. Activities include puzzles, obstacle courses and manipulatives. There will be separate grade specific sections.

Come make some STEM inspired art with Mrs. Francis in the STEM lab! The students will collect and create specimens, build creative structures, and create different artworks inspired by STEAM.

Children will learn the basics of Ukulele in a fun and supportive environment. Students will need their own Ukulele which can be purchased from Amazon, if you do not already have one. 

Join a gaming club, where kids will play board games, card games and puzzles.   Children will develop cognitive, social and problem-solving skills, while enjoying engaging games with their friends. Games MAY include Phase 10, Rubik's Cube, The 24 Game, spatial awareness games and word games. Students will be grouped by grade level and ability. 

Garden Guardians is a hands-on, nature-loving group for students in PreK through 5th grade who want to explore the outdoors and make a difference! Our young gardeners will help care for our school garden, learn about plants, insects, and nature, and discover fun ways to care for the Earth. From planting seeds and watering flowers to creating garden crafts and learning eco-friendly habits, Garden Guardians will grow their curiosity—and our school garden—together!

Would you like to explore the creative world of needlework? If so, needlecraft for beginners is a fun and easy way to get started! By using simple X-shaped stitches on fabric, you can create beautiful designs—from flowers and animals to inspiring quotes and scenic patterns. All you need is a needle, thread, fabric, and a pattern to begin. Needlework helps develop focus, patience, and fine motor skills, making it a wonderful hobby for all ages.

In this class, third, fourth, and fifth graders will learn about the DCSD Science Olympiad (Saturday, March 28, 2026), explore the different events, and become experts in one or two.  Participants are HIGHLY encouraged to keep that Saturday free so we can bring home the gold for OGE!

Introductory Spanish class for Pre-K or Kindergarten children focused on learning basic numbers, colors, and vocabulary through fun, interactive methods such as songs, games, and hands-on activities.

Learn how to create Zentangles—beautiful drawings made from repeating patterns—and explore the flowing lines and colors of Neurographic Art! These creative styles not only help boost imagination and make amazing works of art, but they also support handwriting and fine motor control as students learn and become experts in cursive.  Additionally, these art styles support a calm and focused mindset.
