US History I Makerspace - Project Overview

Project #1 [Topic = American Revolution]
- Make-uh-Space for America! Students will demonstrate an understanding of colonial resistance during the era of the American Revolution by designing a product of their choosing through a makerspace activity.
Project #2 [Topic = US Constitution]
- US Constitution: the Board Game Students will demonstrate an understanding of the U.S. Constitution by designing a board game through a makerspace activity.
Project #3 [Topic = American Revolution & Early Republic]
Project #4 [Topic = First American Industrial & Transportation Revolutions]
- Who Tells Your Story? Students will demonstrate an understanding of the Industrial and/or Transportation Revolutions by designing a children's picture book through a makerspace activity.
Project #5 [Topic = Antebellum Reform Movements]
- Lights, Camera, History! Students will demonstrate an understanding of an antebellum reform movement by designing a short documentary film through a makerspace activity.
Project #6 [applies to ALL topics, but introduced during the topic of Manifest Destiny]
- Nuff Said: History Through Comics Students will demonstrate an understanding of a historical figure and/or event by designing a comic book through a makerspace activity.
Project #7 [Topic = the Era of the Civil War]
- Making History Students will demonstrate an understanding of the era of the Civil War by designing a product of their choosing, using any of the past resources from every makerspace activity throughout the school year.
