1. The Rhythm Randomizer - Every time you click on the rhythm in the link, it refreshes with a new one. Practice saying the rhythm using rhythm syllables and then perform it on pots and pans! Want a challenge? Under “Note Options” you can select different kinds of notes - select whichever notes you know how to audiate and perform and see what the randomizer gives you! To work on your note writing, practice copying down some of the rhythms too.
2. Body Percussion - No instruments at home? No problem! Your body is a great instrument! Watch the video and practice some of these techniques. Then, create a body percussion ostinato to go with a song of your choice. It can be a favorite song from music class or any song you love. Have fun!
3. Music Scavenger Hunt - Did you know that even everyday objects can make music? Print out the scavenger hunt sheet and have fun searching your house for different “instruments”. Once you’ve found them all, try making music with them!
Don't forget to go to the 4th Chorus Page!
Band Students go to the Band Page too!

1. Reading Music. You have been learning how to read Do, Re, Mi patterns. This slide has been shown to you at music class every day for the past 2 months. Can you sing it on your own?
2. NEW GAME! Al Citrón - This is a new game “Al Citrón”. Try to learn the song and teach it to your family! If you don’t have beanbags, you can use soda cans, cups, rocks, socks (clean of course!) or anything else you have around the house. If you have access to recording devices, send me a video - I’d love to see it!
3. Seeing Music - This awesome app allows you to see what your singing voice sounds like! Test it out with some of the songs we’ve learned in music class. Suggestions include: Closet Key, Snail Snail, Hot Cross Buns, Al Citrón, Oats and Beans, I’s the B’y (I’se the Boy), Molly Malone, or any other songs you can remember. Which song looks the coolest?
4. Songwriting - Ever wanted to be a songwriter? Now’s your chance! This video shows you how to write songs using just a few rhyming words. Following the steps in the video, write a song about something in your life and perform it for your family. For an extra challenge, add instruments (or “found” instruments like pots, pans, or other household items) to your song.
