Let’s be tuneful and sing to a familiar song:
Wake Up You Lazy Bones (and go and fetch the water, and go and fetch the cow)
Mother Goonie Bird
1. Let’s warm up by singing Molly Malone! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1v20cIi2YFftaRWRK75xO7-NdFbR6pXDE/view?usp=sharing
2. Listen to another Irish song: Michael Finnegan and echo the rhythm patterns between the verses! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1h2b3FmwGF9XUe0EAl5VopOzb71Otygap/view?usp=sharing
3. We’ve been reading rhythm notation! Practice reading these rhythms: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1sB34reDg0OYUJGxen2YernWmUqOK-dchtR0vzoFv0U0/edit?usp=sharing, then create your own. Challenge: record a performance of your created rhythms on a pot or pan and email it to me!
4. Make up a dance to a recording of the “The Irish Washerwoman” https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-fzQRTdTDkEC1JvHWvnFS3FVqkJstrAD/view?usp=sharing Choose a movement for the A section that doesn’t go anywhere, then skipping or galloping for the B section. Decide if you’ll make it a circle dance or a partner dance.
Speaking of partner dances, how about a little Sasha! Teach the dance to a family member!

5. After all that dancing, you might need a little rest. Grab a blanket and relax a moment as you listen to this beautiful Irish tune: Danny Boy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DquA6KyHTos
