Upcoming Events:

ACE Mentor Program of Oregon - Applications Open- Applications for the Architecture, Construction, Engineering (ACE) Mentor Program of Oregon are now OPEN. The ACE program is open to juniors and seniors (and sophomores as space is available) who are interested in architecture, construction and engineering.

New - ACE continues to support educational scholarships ($11500 was awarded to 17 seniors last year) and we are growing the "ACE Summer Experience," a program that connects ACE students to paid summer opportunities with local A/C/E firms. Last summer, 10 students worked at eight different companies in the Portland area.

Upcoming Information Sessions

ACE will be hosting two student & parent/guardian information sessions via Zoom and in-person. We will provide a program overview and answer questions.

OSHA-10 safety certification- If you are a graduate of 2025/2026 and plan to go into a construction-based career after high school, sign up to take your OSHA-10 safety course. You will work independently to complete the course and can turn in your certificate for elective credit when it is complete! Talk to Colbert for more details!

at Fir Ridge

At Fir Ridge, we understand the importance of career and job readiness as well as exposure to hands-on projects connected to relevant knowledge for trade-based career pathways. We currently offer three CTE classes: Business and Entrepreneurship and Industrial Arts. Click the links to learn more about each program.

Outside of CTE, we also offer a variety of classes that can help you further explore career options such as Forensic Science, Anatomy and Physiology, Financial Math, and Senior Exit.

CTE in OREGON

Career Technical Education (CTE) provides students of all ages with the academic and technical skills, knowledge and training necessary to succeed in future careers and to become lifelong learners. In total, about 12.5 million high school and college students are enrolled in CTE across the nation. CTE prepares these learners for the world of work by introducing them to workplace competencies, and makes academic content accessible to students by providing it in a hands-on context. In fact, the high school graduation rate for CTE concentrators is about 90 percent – 15 percentage points higher than the national average.
