Durham District School Board has seven different library systems that operate within its area. They are committed to helping children get ready for kindergarten. They offer programs, collections, resources, and safe spaces to aid in that role.

Communication

Each Kindergarten class uses Online Apps as a form of communication for parents such as Remind or Seesaw.

You will receive more information in late August/early September regarding how to join the app for your child's specific class.

Busing Information

For those of our Kindergarten friends who will be taking the bus to school, please read this section carefully!

Durham Student Transportation Services

Durham Student Transportation Services (DSTS) provides all home to school and between school transportation in the Durham District School Board (DDSB).
You will need your child's student number and date of birth to access bus information on the DSTS website.

Important Information

  • You will need your child's OEN (Ontario Education Number) to access their bus drop off and pick up information with Durham Student Transportation Services.

  • All Kindergarten students MUST be walked directly to the bus by an adult as well as be greeted by an adult at drop off times.

  • While on the bus, Kindergarten students will be seated near the front for safety.

  • When the bus arrives at the school, the children are helped off the bus and lined up. They are met by a supervising teacher who will then safely walk them to the Kindergarten fenced in area.
