COVID 19 Health & Safety

Before arriving to school each day, caregivers are asked to do the Covid-19 screening tool with their child.

Here are some of the preventive measures we have to keep our students safe and healthy while at school.

It is a great idea to practice and talk about the below protocols before the first day of school so your child feels comfortable and familiar with our routines.

How To Wear a Mask Safely

We do not know what the directives will be about mask from Durham Region Public in September.
For now, we are providing you the information they have given us about mask wearing and handwashing.

• The mask you choose for your child should be comfortable, breathable, fit properly and cover the nose, mouth and chin.

• Let your child help choose their mask – picking one that they like and reflects their personalities and interests may encourage them to wear it.

• Purchase a few extras – it’s a good idea to have a clean extra mask in a sealable bag in your child’s backpack or cubby, in case the one they are wearing gets wet, dirty, or lost

Hand Washing

We wash our hands for 30 seconds to clean off any germs that may be on our hands.
We wash our hands when we arrive to school, before snacks
, lunch and after using the washroom.

Sanitizing Our Hands

We sanitize our hands multiple times through out the day to prevent the spread of germs.

Socially Distanced Line Ups

We stand socially distanced when we line up outside and inside the classroom.

Boomerang Snacks & Lunches

Unwrapping all your food and bringing it to school in a lunch container.
This helps us from having to ask others to touch our items to open them.

Baskets

Students keep all their belongings in their basket in their designated shelf spot to help with organization and prevent others from touching belongings.
