Hi, my name is Jadie Vieth and I’m a senior this year at DC West. This is my second year in journalism, and I’m really excited to take pictures and help create the yearbook. If you know me, you know my dogs are basically my best friends.
I’m the youngest kid of three, which has definitely shaped who I am. I spend a lot of time with my two dogs, and family and friends are an important part of my life. I enjoy playing basketball, taking pictures, reading, and baking. I am also currently working at 7brew outside of school and I believe I make the best drinks.
I’ve been an honor roll student for the past three years and I’m hoping to continue that this year as well. I have been part of the girls’ basketball team all four years. My goal is to go to the University of Nebraska Kearney to study elementary education. It has always been my dream to become a first grade teacher and basketball coach.
Overall, I would describe myself as hardworking and a positive person to be around. Basketball has taught me how to be a team player and a leader. I'm hoping to take the lessons I’ve learned on the court and apply them in the classroom as a future teacher.
Hello! My name is Lilly Kosiske and I'm a senior at Douglas County West. I have been a member of the DCWest community since my Pre-K year. I truly love this school and everyone in the community. Everyone is super welcoming and involved. I take pride in my managing and problem solving skills. I show great commitment and love for all the clubs and activities I'm in.
I have been involved in many things throughout my School years. I was on the high school Softball team, I'm on SALT (Student Athlete and Leadership) , I am in yearbook, last year I was the captain of the dance team, ive been on the cheer squad, and lastly I was on the track team. I also grew up camping and heavily involved in admiring the beautiful nature around me. A lot of my life I had also raced dirt bikes and I was always trying my hardest to improve my skills and knowledge about racing.
I have always taken pride in my goals and all the accomplishments that I've gained. I'm always trying my hardest in school with maintaining good grades and while also having 2 jobs. I'm very lucky and appreciative to be in SALT and show my true pride towards my classmates, teammates, and the sport itself. I was also super fortunate to make it to the leadership dinner last year. I’ve gone through so many battles in my life, so to be able to prove my passion and skills means a lot to me. I plan on being an aesthetician because I find the skin interesting, and I would love to make girls feel more confident in their own skin.
Overall, being a student at Douglas County West means a lot to me and my future. I love that all the teachers take charge in teaching and making class worth being there, while also making school bearable. They teach us great life lessons in and out of the classroom. I'm appreciative of all the amazing opportunities that I've got while being at DC West that may not have been there for me at other schools. Thank you for taking the time to read about me, my life, and the goals I hope to achieve!
Hello my name is Benji Oien, I have been going to Dc west since Preschool. I am a senior and I have no role in journalism, but I plan on taking lots of pictures and being super cool. I have lived in Valley Nebraska for my entire life, and I live close enough to the school that I just walk everyday. I also am forced to make a tiktok everyday while I walk.
I have four siblings, Zoe Sennet who is twenty-three years old and is famous on tiktok, look her up, Ollie who is fifteen years old and a sophomore with autism which makes him nonverbal. In my free time I walk, read, spend time with my friends, and aquascape. I work at Ace Hardware about six or seven hours a week. I try to help my parents as much as possible because of how stressful at home life is with Ollie and his seizures.
At DC West I am in almost every club imaginable. I am in speech, one act, cross country, science club, hosa, fca, band, jazz band, honor choir, and many more. I would like to go to college after High school, maybe Midland because of how many scholarships I have to that school. Many of my friends go to Midland so I wouldn’t be completely alone.
I am very excited to be in journalism and take lots of pictures. This class will also be a nice break from the rest of my core classes. Also the people in this class are very fun people to be around while I work on the classroom work. All and all I can’t wait to contribute to the yearbook this year.
