Freshmen

Hi! My name is Hazel, I live in Valley, Nebraska. I am a freshman at DC West High School. This is my first year in journalism. I’m also in FCA, HOSA, volleyball, and track this year.

I have five siblings, three are older and two are younger. I enjoy swimming, running, and cooking. I like traveling and hope to go to all fifty states when I’m older. I would like to go into the medical field when I am older.

I made honor roll in 7th and 8th grade. I have all honors classes this year. Some of my short term goals are graduating High School, and going to college for a doctorate. Some long term goals are graduating college and getting a house.

I hope to continue to be a teammate, student, and someone people rely on. Go falcons!

Hello! My name is Addison, and I am a freshman at DCW High School. I grew up in Waterloo, and continue to live there now. I chose to take journalism as a freshman because writing and taking pictures is something that has always interested me. I can't wait to continue to take this class through my senior year, and I will never stop recommending it to all my friends. I'm excited to continue the 25-26 school year with you all! 

I am the oldest of three siblings in my house. We have a family dog, and her name is Luna. I am a DCW cheerleader, and I also do all star cheer as well through EAA (Elkhorn Athletic Association). I have been an all star cheer leader for 8 years.. I enjoy reading, listening to music, and doing little crafts every now and then.

Some of my achievements are making the high school cheer team and being an active athlete with the cheerleaders. I also take pride in the fact that I am able to keep up with all school work while also balancing three cheer teams and my family life. Some of my short term goals are keeping my grades and GPA up and making sure that I am able to maintain a steady relationship with all my friends and family. Some of my long term goals are to graduate high school, go to college, get a degree, and do something that doesn't make me dread going to work.

I can't wait to grow as a person, a friend, and a teammate, and work towards my goals. I hope to keep making friends and being an active person throughout my high school years.
