Dickson County Schools Behavior Team is composed of certified BCBAs, RBTs, Special Education, and General Education teachers. This wide range of viewpoints and a plethora of years experience in the classroom/school setting creates valuable resources to rely upon (along with individual data) in order to make the best decisions for all students.
Our team works hard to support students, teachers, administrators, and families in having the tools needed to decrease negative behaviors and increase overall positive student behaviors. The Behavior Team collaborate with school teams to discuss effective interventions based upon ongoing data collection, facilitate trainings on interventions and strategies, and provide resources to support social/emotional learning.
As a district, we believe in supporting the whole child. We use RTI2-B (Response to Instruction and Intervention for Behavior), a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). RTI2-B is an evidence-based approach that provides a proactive and preventative framework that uses data and instruction to support students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs, thereby creating a safe learning environment for all students.
