Our BCBA Team
BCBA stands for Board Certified Behavior Analyst. A BCBA has a Master's degree in behavior analysis, education, or psychology. Aside from coursework focused on behavior analysis; a certified BCBA has accumulated a minimum of 1,000 hours of supervised fieldwork experience and has passed a BCBA examination.
BCBAs work with people of all ages and in various settings including schools, private practices, and preschool programs. The services they provide usually focus on lessening challenging behavior while teaching important skills that are necessary for success in life. Their work revolves around creating a personalized program for their clients and working with everyone from speech pathologists and occupational therapists to teachers and parents to ensure positive outcomes. Their goal is to help individuals gain the ability to regulate their reactions to their environment.
BCBAs also provide vital support and guidance to behavior therapists and (in the school setting) behavior consultants, teachers, paraprofessionals, and others that work closely with students in the educational setting.
