I am a Douglas County native! I graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. I earned my Master's Degree in School Counseling at Mercer University. I traveled the world before returning back to Georgia where I am now so excited to be your counselor! When I'm not working, I like to spend time outside with my wife and our 2 sons. I am a huge soccer fan and enjoy being your DCHS Girls' Soccer Coach! Let's go Tigers!

I'm a proud graduate of Alabama A&M University, where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Communicative Sciences and Disorders, and North Carolina Central University, where I earned my Master's Degree in Career Counseling.
I've lived in 3 different states before making my way back home to Douglasville. Before becoming a counselor, I was an educator for 6 years. I love spending time with my husband and our two sons. I'm excited to be at DCHS and look forward to an amazing year together!

I am originally from East Tennessee but spent 23 years in Athens, Georgia. I moved to Carrollton a few years ago to be with my partner who teaches at The University of West Georgia. I was a first generation high school and college graduate. I completed my bachelor’s degree in Anthropology at Emory University and my master’s and specialist degrees in School Counseling at the University of Georgia. I am nationally certified through the National Board for Certified Counselors. I have one amazing daughter, who graduated from Georgia State University, and I’m a proud cat mom.
This year marks my 25th year as a high school counselor (4th year at DC!) and I love working at Douglas County High School! I am passionate about supporting students and advocating for opportunities. I am particularly interested in advocating for equity and access to historically underrepresented and marginalized groups, providing support and assistance to first generation college students, creating safe spaces for students who identify as LGBTQIA+, and supporting students who have experienced housing insecurity and/or homelessness.

My name is Temekia Cheely and I am your school social worker. I am excited to embark on my 4th year at Douglas County High School and look forward to serving as a support to each of you. A small introduction about myself is that I joined the Douglas County School System in 2022. I received my MSW degree from University of Central Florida and MJ degree in children's law and policy from Loyola University. I am a proud member of the School Social Workers Association of Georgia (SSWAG). I have served families and students for the last 16 years and I am excited to have the opportunity to continue supporting the students, families and staff of Douglas County.
