The state of Georgia requires that students earn a minimum of 23 credits in the areas below to be eligible for high school graduation.

English/Language Arts: 4 credits
Literature and Comp I, Literature and Comp II, and 2 additional approved Literature courses
Math: 4 credits
Algebra, Geometry, Advanced Algebra, 1 additional approved Math course
Science: 4 credits
Biology, Physical Science OR Physics, Chemistry OR Environmental Science OR Earth Systems, 1 additional approved science course
Social Studies: *4 credits
World History, *American Government, US History, and *Economics
*Students who transfer to Douglas County from another school may have earned 0.5 credit in American Government and 0.5 in Economics. This will satisfy the graduation requirement in those courses.
Health and Personal Fitness: 1 credit
CTAE/Fine Arts/World Language: 3 credits
Additional electives in any subject: 3 credits
Note: The above requirements are for high school graduation in the state of Georgia only. Four-Year College admission requirements may vary. For example, most colleges require two credits of the same foreign language.
