Vicki Matta - Reading Interventionist
My name is Vicki Matta and I have been at Eldorado since 2018-2019 school year. I served that year as the 5th grade EA and helped support the 4th-6th grade reading student that were below grade level.
During the 2019-2020 school year my role changed and I was part of the team that worked with 1st through 4th grade students who needed extra reading support. It was a year of learning what works best for kids and how to best support their needs by correctly identifying their area of greatest need and designing a program to enhance their understanding of the reading process. We made some wonderful progress with kids and were looking forward to the end of year results when the COVID 19 derailed our plans. We did the best we could to continue to meet with students but the disruption will impact their growth.
We are looking forward to the 2020-2021 school year where we will take what we have learned and apply it more effectively to our students' needs.
I graduated from Douglas County High School when it was the only high school in the county and there was only one traffic light in the county. I then attended Bethel College in St. Paul, MN and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Social Studies.
My husband and I have been married for 38 years and we have three adult children and four grandchildren. They all live out of state so we don't have many opportunities to spend a great deal of time together. I enjoy spending time in the beautiful outdoors whenever possible.
Kim Fisher - Reading Interventionist
I have been a part of the Eldorado community since 2012. My three kids have all attended school here and I have participated in parent groups including PTO and SAC. In 2018, I joined the EE classified team as a STEM facilitator then a Super Science facilitator, and now a Reading Interventionist. I enjoy watching the kids grow from year to year but my favorite part about being in the school is seeing the light bulb moments kids have as they make connections to what they've learned!
My family is currently fostering a Freedom Service Dog who is in training to become a service dog for a client who lives with a disability like autism, traumatic brain injury (TBI), multiple sclerosis (MS), muscular dystrophy (MD), Down syndrome, cerebral palsy (CP), spinal cord injuries, or more.
My husband, children and I are all Colorado natives so we spend any free time we can enjoying the beauty and activity that Colorado has to offer!
Megan Jutstrom - Reading Interventionist
I’m Megan Jutstrom and I am so excited to join the Eldorado Community. After taking some time away from education to be at home with my two young girls, I am ready to get back into teaching.
I earned a Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Education, a Minor in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Education all from Regis University. I have taught at the elementary level for 12 years.
I live in Highlands Ranch with my husband, two daughters (7 and 9), and two dogs. I love to bake and try new recipes, hike, and get away to the mountains on the weekends when I can.
I am so happy to have the opportunity to join the Eldorado Community and I am looking forward to supporting our young readers.
