Recognitions

During the 2021-2022 school year, Reagan Kelley, Kaiden Glauser and Jackson Leonard competed in the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minoritized Scientists (ABRCMS) at the national level between high school, community college, and first-year undergraduate students. They were one of two groups in the field of Microbiology selected to present at the virtual symposium.





Brynne Casto, Paige Behrens, and Peightyn Clapper submitted their paper to the Stockholm Junior Water Prize in April of 2022 and were selected as the Colorado state-level winners. They advanced to the national competition held in June of 2022 at the Colorado School of Mines where they competed against teams from nearly every state.

Rock Canyon students take 1st and 3rd at Colorado-Wyoming Junior Academy of Science Research Symposium

This April, Research in Biotechnology students presented their research at the Colorado Wyoming Junior Academy of Science Research Symposium. Vanessa Hubing and Hannah Kim took first place; Tvishi Yendamuri, Nishi Veer, Shwetha Suresh, and Mahika Anand took third place. Other teams also qualified to present their work at the American Junior Academy of Science (AJAS) National Meeting in 2022.

RCHS Students take top honors at Denver Metro Regional Science and Engineering Fair


This year's fair was entirely virtual, requiring students to put together a 3-minute video presentation of their research, in addition to virtual interviews with researchers well-versed with their project.

Rock Canyon students take 1st and 2nd at Colorado-Wyoming Junior Academy of Science

On Saturday, April 18th, all of the Research in Biotech students presented their research virtually through zoom meetings with local scientists through the Colorado Wyoming Junior Academy of Sciences (CWJAS). RCHS Biotech student's abstract published in medical journal

Congratulations to Dale Kim, former RCHS Biotech student, for publishing his abstract titled "In vivo molecular investigation of taurine as a novel therapeutic approach to treating glutathione-deficient diseases in a mouse model of homocystinuria" in the Journal of Investigative Medicine. Rock Canyon takes first in all three divisions at Junior Academy of Science symposium

Five teams of Research in Biotechnology students presented their research at the Junior Academy of Science research symposium on Friday, April 27, 2018. Students were divided into three divisions: Microbiology/Biotechnology, Environmental Science, and Plant Science. In its first year entering, RCHS teams took 1st place in each division, with all teams placing 3rd or above in their division, beating out perennial winner Cherry Creek. The top five teams in the competition overall have been invited to attend the American Junior Academy of Sciences Convention in Washington DC to present their work.
