Hello Crew! My name is Laura Ballard, and I am the kindergarten & first grade mild moderate needs learning specialist for the 2026/2027 school year.  I have worked in Douglas County for over 18 years, and many of those years have been at Pine Lane. I am very excited to work with students in these grades on their educational journey! I love finding engaging ways to learn and also love watching my students see their hard work pay off, while gaining a love for learning. 

Some fun facts about me are:

• I have 5 children

• 3 of our children are Chaparral graduates; we also have 10th-grade identical twin girls 

• We live out on land and have 1 dog, 3 cats, 2 lizards, 1 fish, 1 hamster, and  30 chickens 

•  I have lived in Parker since 1982 and went to kindergarten through sixth grade at Pine Lane

• I love camping in the summer and fall, fishing, and reading by the river

We are going to have a great year!
