Hello!  Welcome to 5th grade! I am the 5th-grade language arts teacher.  This is my eighth year at Northridge and I am so excited to be here!  It's going to be a great year!

I have taught 6th grade my entire teaching career (17 years!).  My first 10 years I taught language arts and then switched to science and social studies when I came to NRE.  I started my career in Aurora at a K-8 school, then in Littleton at a 6-8 middle school, and for the last 7 years at NRE.  I made the move to 5th grade this year since 6th grade was moved to the middle school.  I am very familiar with middle school and have a passion for helping students get ready for and feel confident in such a big transition. 

I grew up in Colorado in the Littleton area and went through Douglas County Schools from preschool to 12th grade and graduated from ThunderRidge High School.  I am excited to be back in Douglas County and giving back to the community that helped raise me.  

I have an 9 year old son who is in 4th grade at NRE and an 11 year old daughter who is in 6th grade at MRMS.  You know NRE is a great place when teachers choose to bring their own kids here! 

I love traveling and experiencing new places.  My most recent travels have been to Germany and Switzerland in 2023 and Ireland in 2024.  

While most of my free time is spent driving my children from activity to activity or watching their games, tournaments or cheer competitions, I enjoy going to the mountains with my family, reading, watching movies, gardening and trying to talk my husband into our next Disney trip :)
