Mrs. maura killion
Hello! My name is Maura Killion, and I am thrilled to be your child’s mental health provider for the 2024-2025 school year! Originally from the Chicagoland area, my husband and I moved our family to Colorado a few summers ago. We have a toddler baby boy, and a Goldendoodle pup! This will be my fourth year as the School Psychologist at Sage Canyon Elementary, and my ninth year working as a School Psychologist overall. I earned my Bachelor of Science degrees in Psychology and Human Services from Loyola University Chicago. I continued at Loyola to earn my Masters of Education in Educational Psychology, and my Education Specialist degree in School Psychology. I am a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) and a Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist. I have worked with students with unique abilities in both public school and private clinical settings. I am looking forward to working together this school year!

Who are School Psychologists?
"School psychologists are uniquely qualified members of school teams that support students' ability to learn and teachers' ability to teach. They apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior, to help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally. School psychologists partner with families, teachers, school administrators, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community".
