Social Emotional Skill Development services
Mrs. Killion provides direct instruction in social emotional learning through service minutes written in a student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). These service minutes target social emotional goals commonly in the areas of social skills, emotion regulation, and/or executive functioning. Services may be provided in different formats to best support a student's area of need.
Direct: Small group or individual services outside of general education setting
Direct: Services inside general education setting (ie recess, playtime, etc.)
Indirect: Consultation with teachers
What is social emotional learning?
"[Social Emotional Learning] is the process through which all young people and adults acquire and apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and collective goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions."
