Homework
Daily Homework:
Our school is changing its homework policy this year. It will look very different than you are used to. There is no weekly sheet that is sent home. Please look in your child's purple Thursday folder and emails from me for information about what we are learning.
Arrowwood Recommendations for homework:
In second grade, children are to read for 15-20 minutes every day. This can be independent, with another person, to a pet or stuffed animal, or even read to by a parent. The child should be looking at the pictures and words if they are not the active reader. Online reading is also helpful. The Douglas County libraries have free online books.

From August through October, children will be working on using an app called Reflex at home 2-3 times a week. This app/site is available on a tablet or a computer. I will send home a QR code to help families log in at home.
Each session of Reflex will last about 15 minutes until they get a "green dot" for that day. (The green color makes a circle and then fills in the center of the dot. Only then has the student practiced math facts enough for the day. )
